The Music of El Diablo Suelto the new CD by John Williams is published by Caroni Music
John Williams has dedicated his new CD, El Diablo Suelto to the extraordinary Venezuelan Guitarist, Alirio Díaz who celebrates his 80th birthday later his year.
During his career Maestro Díaz has played an important and unique role in the history of the guitar. El Diablo Suelto is also a homage to Venezuela and the great Venezuelan composers who represent such a rich and vital musical culture. John Williams is accompanied on four tracks in the recording by the Venezuelan composer, Alfonso Montes, who plays the cuatro and also composed the last piece on the CD.
The work on the CD has been maturing for several years between Caracas, London and Biarritz and we are delighted to hear the final result.
This wonderful recording includes a selection of the best and most extraordinary music from Venezuela including original guitar works by Lauro, Sojo, Borges and Montes and arrangements for guitar by Alirio Díaz of harp music by the great Llanera harp player, Ignacio “Indio” Figueredo and other Venezuelan popular melodies.
John Williams used the Caroni Music Editions for all the tracks on the CD which are arranged, edited or revised by Alirio Díaz. All of the pieces are published by Caroni Music and most of them are already available from us. You find the references in our catalogue.
